Speaking With The Holy Spirit's Tongue

Death and life are in the tongue." Proverbs 18:21a. Q. Whose tongue? A. God's Tongue! "A person lives by everything the Lord says." Matthew 4:4b (EB). The Holy Spirit's Tongue inspired all the Original Words of Holy Scriptures for whosoever to follow Christ's Way, Truth and Life. "By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth....For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast." Psalm 33:6, 9. Q. Can God unspeak out of existence what He has spoken into existence; or can He uncommand what He once commanded to stand fast??

God's spoken and written Words are equally powerful; and how privileged that we, as His created beings, can tap into His Divine, Unlimited Power! Therefore, one can both pray and speak in the Tongue of the Holy Spirit by reading, reciting, singing, pondering, studying, or teaching scholarly counsel of God's Holy Spirit Breathed Written Word.

Since the New Covenant has been in effect, the Holy Spirit dwells within the inner sanctum of the soul's spirit, "not in tables of stone [ten commandments], but in fleshy tables of the heart." 2 Corinthians 3:3 (lps). He is continually at work in purifying Believers, of which the writer of Hebrews identifies their "spirits of just men made perfect [matured, having put away childish things]." Hebrews 12:23 (lps). The Holy Spirit sanctions Believers in the Word of God's Will; and as they pray the Word Of God's Mind they prepare the way for God to fulfill His Promises contained in His Word to them. "According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust [of the natural unconverted heart]." 2 Peter 1:3-4 (lps). He has also assured us that all His Promises are Yes and Amen (2 Corinthians 1:20).

The Bible is a Holy Spirit Book for the spiritual eating and drinking of Christ's Divine Life. He said, "I am the bread that gives life. He who comes to me will never be hungry. He who believes in me will never be thirsty." John 6:35b (EB). "It is not the flesh that gives a person life. It is the spirit that gives life. The words I told you are spirit, and so they give life." (John 6:63 (EB). The Truth Of God's Word is established by two or three witnesses (Matthew 18:16; 2 Corinthians 13:1). The Holy Spirit, Jesus The Christ, and Inspired Writers of the Scriptures are witnesses to one another as the Father had them write and extrinsically live out His Holy Word. "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; that the man of God may be perfect [mature in judging right from wrong], throughly furnished unto all good works [done of and by the Spiritual True Authority of God's Written Word in the Book of James]." 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (lps). Also, we have the witnesses of the early Patriarchs, i.e. Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; the Disciples, and Believers of all ages; especially those witnessing accounts of the First Century; i.e., Believers seeing Christ THEN!

Praying with, in, and by the Holy Spirit is not saying sounds that cannot be understood to one's self or others; for the Word is plain of each witness's duty (Deuteronomy 10:12). It is this then, to pray the Written Words of the Bible, which are inspired by the Holy Spirit's imbued, imbrued, and endued impartations of His Presence quaquaversalizing as we sit with Christ in Heavenly Places (Ephesians 2:6); i.e., Christ is Deity, with His finished missioned work on earth completed, is now sitting at the Right Hand of the Father polishing His Followers/ Witnesses on earth and transforming them more into His Likeness to become virtuous, righteous, graceful, and holy, no matter how this world's situational circumstances are or become.

It has been mistakenly believed and taught by a great number of worshippers today that it is of necessity to obtain a second baptism of glossolalia (speaking in unknown tongues), to be approved of God and experience a higher level of spirituality with Him. We have observed worship services where attendees have been overwhelmed by the church leadership and its members attempting to force this awkward notion upon them, so as to get them to speak in an "unknown tongue" when it is so apparent to pray or speak the Tongue of God as, in, and of His Written Word. Christ's witnesses are to live by "every Word that proceedeth out of the Mouth of God" (Matthew 4:4); without omitting (as some do) particular parts of Scripture to over-emphasize others; or/and even omitting complete Books to make biblical meanings to have quasi or pseudo slants. However, God speaks to humankind in their own language, so they can understand Him. Likewise, He hears the prayers and praise of all people which are spoken to Him in their own language which they know and understand. It appears to us that those who insist in speaking in an "unknown tongue" are doing so of their own misguided imaginary zeal and crediting themselves with knowing more of God than those who do not participate in that type of activity. However, if this were so, they would be enabled to tell the rest of us the answers to the questions God asked Job (Job 38-41)! Not only that, but be able to tell us, because of their higher level of spirituality, how evil had originated out of a perfect Heaven, among perfectly created angels starting a war between God and them, which evil was then transferred to this earth forever! Scripture does not contain any record of Jesus advocating a second baptism of glossolalia as He came already as the Anointed One, but also set an example for all by being baptized once by John the Baptizer. It says that when the Apostles preached the Gospel at Pentecost, they began to "speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. ... every man heard them speak in his own language." Acts 2:4-5. This was a one-time miraculous event THEN, so that the Jews that had come to Jerusalem from the surrounding countries having their own particular language, were able to hear and understand the Gospel in their own language. The Holy Spirit's Omnipresence always speaks in a language that is understandable and familiar to the recipient. God is the originator of order - not of confusion! Consider the results when God confounded the language at the Tower of Babel, which He did AT THAT TIME for His Own Purpose! The Holy Spirit's Breathed Holy Words
by L. Phillip Schmidt

Give me the Holy Spirit's "Ever Shining Word" to stay.
Its Messaged Light shall guide me on His Graceful Way.
My soul of night is quenched in its always brighter day.
Filling Christ's Glory from its precepts to refining;
Christ's Righteous Life within me I there stay resigning.
His two1 Love Laws never known to have mistaken,
As others read to know no other portrayal need be taken.
High Calling the Truth so ever and always commending,
Dawning each heart never a night to stay unending2

Thoughts To Ponder

"The sinful tongue [of the uncircumcised spirit] is likened to an "open sepulchre" [grave] in Psalm 5:9. Romans 3:13-14 says, "with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness."

"Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer." Psalm 19:15.

"O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise." Psalm 51:15. In other words, let God's Words be our praying words because they all were written by God's Tongue Amen!

It is a thought so precious, that God emptied Heaven of the Son, Holy Spirit, and Angels for our Salvation in His desperation to have us know Him; but so much more blessed that Christ - after fulfilling His Missioned Assignment here on earth - NOW sings over us as His Redeemed Ones forever everlastingly (Zephaniah 3:17).

"For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven. " Psalm 119:89.

"How sweet are thy words unto my taste [yes, tongue]! Yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth." Psalm 119:103 (lps).

"I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation." Psalm 119:99.

Speaking of Christ, Luke 4:32 says, "And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power."

"Thy word have I hid in mine heart [mind], that I might not sin [any so-called human mysticism and/or sophistry of unknown tongues] against thee." Psalm 119:11 (lps).

"Every word of God is pure." Proverbs 30:5a.

The Apostle Paul said, "I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified." Acts 20:32.
