Recapitulation Within And Throughout Palingenesis

Jesus said: "My kingdom is not of this world [kosmos]" (John 18:36). This study explains how He established His Spiritual Kingdom and fulfilled His Promise to the disciples: "There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in His Kingdom" (Matt. 16:28). Christ said He would return in their generation not 2,000+ years later! Up until the mid-nineteenth century, it was commonly understood by Christians that the events Jesus spoke about in the Olivet Discourse (Matthew 24) had already taken place. It has only been within the last 200 years that the millennium, resurrection, rapture, second coming, and judgment have been predicted to be imminent events as various dates have been set - then reset - time and time again; thus leaving the evangelical church in uncertainty, fear and the inability to make long-range plans. Modern Western Christianity has interpreted the prophecies in the books of Matthew and Revelation literally instead of applying the same apocalyptic meaning to the New Testament prophecies/writings which were commonly used throughout the Old Testament prophecies/writings. When these apocalyptic symbols are properly understood in this manner, we come to realize that All Biblical Prophecies were fulfilled at the End Of The World/Age of Judaism in AD 70. We encourage our readers to prayerfully study the following chart of the Hebrew Metaphoric/Apocalyptic Language of Judaism and notice how similar the New Testament coincides with the Old Testament writers! Jesus told His disciples that their generation would not pass, until all the signs recorded in Matthew 24 were fulfilled. The New Testament writers indicated that they realized they were living "in the end of the world" [age] (Matthew 24:3; Hebrews 9:26; 1 Corinthians 10:11). The Greek word for "world" in these three verses is "aion" which means "an age, indefinite time, or dispensation" rather than the Greek word "kosmos" meaning "land or world."

How could Jesus have made that statement if His return would have been many centuries past that present generation? Apparently some of these disciples Jesus was talking to would be alive when He "came back" as the "Blessed Hope" being fulfilled as The Parousia (Deity Presence manifesting Himself) to take them to the Heavenly Home with Him! Also read John 14:28-29; Revelation 22:12. Christ also told His disciples that the "gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come" (Matthew 24:14). This prophecy was fulfilled in the Apostle Paul's lifetime as he states: "For the hope [Blessed Hope] which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel; which is come unto you, as it is in all the world [Greek: "aion" meaning age]; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth." Colossians 1:5, 6. "If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope [Blessed Hope] of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister." Colossians 1:23. Hope [as the Blessed Hope] in this verse also is past, for all present at that time which the gospel had been preached or ministered to, as [it] was Christ's return to them which made them blessed (happy or joyous), because "hope deferred maketh the heart sick" (Proverbs 13:12). We, today, no longer need "that hope", for the "rescuing Blessed Hope" is now past; and since AD 70 believers NOW sit with Christ in Heavenly Places (Ephesians 2:6) partaking of His Riches in Glory [Victory]. By having all things Spiritual In Common with Him, we need not hope for Christ to acomplish anything for us again; for hope, as [it] is in Him, has already been filled to the brim! See Ephesians 2:4-7. All (everyone) salvationed within Christ through the Holy Spirit by the Father's love from that historic-time are since and now into the "Expectant Hope" to be adjoined to the Triune and foregone-saved in the Heavenly Third Jerusalem - the Third Heaven - to be forever and ever with the Lord of Heaven and Earth.

Jesus went on to warn His disciples: "For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars; see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows....And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many." Matthew 24:5-8, 11. Historians record numerous false Christs: AD 35 - Dositheus the Samaritan and his disciple, Simon Magus; AD 38 - another Samaritan arose, then Theudas. Under Felix, deceivers rose up daily. In AD 55 Egyptian Felix arose and had 30,000 followers; and in AD 60 another imposter arose under Porcius Festus seducing the people and promising them deliverance from Rome if they would follow him into the wilderness! At the time Jesus made this prophecy, the "pax romana" (peace of Rome) was in effect, in which the then known world was apparently at peace. Therefore, when the Jewish wars and revolts broke out, it drew the attention of the people, especially Christ's followers, as they recognized the sign Jesus had given them was being fulfilled. Josephus, the famous historian, documents a great famine occurring during the besiege of Jerusalem. Historians also record many earthquakes, and seven major ones, which occurred in rapid succession during the period before Jerusalem's destruction. As a natural result of the earthquakes, sickness was rampant as a result of unsanitary conditions. "Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken. And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory." Matthew 24:29, 30. In Old Testament times, the "Day Of The Lord," and "signs in the heavens" meant God's judgment against nations. Following the same spiritual meanings found in the Old Testament, we understand clearly that Christ was referring to the judgments upon nations which, according to history, occurred when the Temple and Jerusalem were completely destroyed in AD 70. Also read Isaiah 13:9-10; 24:23; Ezekiel 32:7-8; Joel 2:10-11; 3:15; Amos 5:20; 8:9. Note the following accounts of two ancient historic writers regarding the events that took place leading up to fulfillment of all prophecies in AD 70.

"Now, there was then a great number of false prophets suborned by the tyrants to impose upon the people, who denounced this to them, that they should wait for deliverance from God and this was in order to keep them from deserting, and that they might be buoyed up above fear and care by such hopes....Thus were the miserable people persuaded by these deceivers, and such as belied God himself; while they did not attend, nor give credit, to the signs that were so evident and did so plainly foretell their future desolation; but, like men infatuated, without either eyes to see, or minds to consider, did not regard the denunciations that God made to them.... thus there was a star resembling a sword, which stood over the city, and a comet, that continued a whole year....Thus also, before the Jews' rebellion, and before those commotions which preceded the war, when the people were come in great crowds to the feast of unleavened bread, on the eighth day of the month Xanthicus [Nisan], and at the ninth hour of the night, so great a light shone round the altar and the holy house, that it appeared to be bright day time; which light lasted for half an hour....this light seemed to be a good sign to the unskillful, but was so interpreted by the sacred scribes, as to portend those events that followed immediately upon it .... So these publicly declared, that this signal foreshowed the desolation that was coming upon them. Besides these, a few days after that feast, on the twenty-first day of the month Artemisius [Jayar]....A certain prodigious and incredible phenomenon appeared; I suppose the account of it would seem to be a fable, were it not related by those that saw it, ... and were not the events that followed it of so considerable a nature as to deserve such signals; for, before sunsetting, chariots and troops of soldiers in their armor were seen ... running about among the clouds, and surrounding of cities. Moreover at that feast which we call Pentecost, as the priests were going by night into the inner [court] of the] temple, as their custom was, to perform their sacred ministrations, they said that, in the first place, they felt a quaking, and heard a great noise, ... and after that they heard a sound as of a great multitude, saying, 'Let us remove hence.' "  - Quoted from Josephus Wars Book 6, Chapter 5, Sections 286-300.

"Prodigies had occurred, which this nation, prone to superstititon, but hating all religious rites, did not deem it lawful to expiate by offering and sacrifice. There had been seen hosts joining battle in the skies, the fiery gleam of arms, the temple illuminated by a sudden radiance from the clouds. The doors of the inner shrine were suddenly thrown open, and a voice of more than mortal tone was heard to cry that the Gods were departing. At the same instant there was a mighty stir as of departure." - Quoted from Tactus, Histories, Book 5.

The resurrection from the dead and the "catching up" or "gathering"(1 Thessalonians 4:17; Matthew 24:31) of those who were alive occurred in AD 66 when Josephus and others referred to seeing angels, and hearing voices and trumpets. Thus Christ fulfilled His Prophetic Word. "For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: now yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; for then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world [Greek: "aion" meaning age] hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself." Hebrews 9:24-26. "But those things, which God before had showed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled" (Acts 3:18). No credibility could possibly be given to any so-called prophet after the summation and conclusiveness of John's Revelations describing Christ's victorious defeat of sin's effects and all the works of Christ fulfilling grace to the complete extent to make every believer a saint and partaker of His Glory of honorable winsomeness. All in the above verse pronounces whole extent or quantity of all the prophecies being subjected for Christ to have completedly finished or accomplished! Knowing this is light indeed and no one needs to fear of any so-called "prophet" from John to this day, or futuristically - for all that matters prophetically was settled on earth while Jesus was here so His Word (Himself) could forever settle in Heaven (Psalm 119:89) as the "more sure word of prophecy" (2 Peter 1:19) as each obedient believer's Advocate forever!

Considering all the events up to AD 70 when Jerusalem was totally destroyed by the Romans, we can truly say that Christ fulfilled the entire prophecy of Isaiah 61:1-3: "The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings [three and a half years of ministry] unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord [His death on the cross], and the day of vengeance [Roman/Jewish War AD 63-70] of our God; to comfort all that mourn; to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified." This is the Preterists World View with nothing lacking, and sharing everything equally in the Kingdom of God. This knowledge of all spiritual things is available through Christ The Perfect Example (John 1:14-18; detailing our Salvation Through Grace (Ephesians 2:8, 9; Hebrews 9:26); the Eternal Spiritual Realm Of The Heavenlies (Ephesians 2:6); of All Prophecies Being Fulfilled of both Testaments by the time of Jerusalem's besiege with the events ending completely in AD 70.

Conclusion

It should be remembered that Biblical Terminology is inclusive as Redemptive actions by God for the high calling of the electively-saved, covenant-people who have been healed and restored. Thus [they] are judged already and God's promises reveal this assurance (1 John 5:13) as contemporaneously connected from the First Century onward forever - age after age, and generation after generation. God's intimate, holy presence (Romans 8:16) abides for [their] confidence as Redemptive fulfillment in Christ's performances and endorsement together as assertively replete to His praise, honor and glory, avoiding idol worship of all kinds (1 Corinthians 10) and increasing with His enablings of faithfulness (Hebrews 11).

Additional Acknowledgments To Ponder

Battle Of Armageddon: Battle: Literal AD 66-70. Arma: Hebrew meaning - hill. Megiddo: Hebrew meaning - city. The city of Megiddo was in the valley close to Jerusalem. The hill (seven mountains - Rev. 17:9) was metaphoric language for the fortress of the walled city of Jerusalem. Even today, Americans speak of authoritative decisions/happenings "on the hill" meaning the Capitol and other United States Government buildings in Washington, D.C. When it comes to cities having 7 literal hills, there are many! Rome is only one of them. In America, there are several: Cincinnati, Ohio; Lynchburg, Virginia, and Reading, Pennsylvania; and more than likely many more around the circlet of the earth! Jerusalem was perfectly defensible all around its gated city. Perfectly defensible symbolically meant it was like a seven-hilled city or a Number 7 Fortress! Thus the Battle was literal; and the Arma Megiddo was symbolic, making both a literal and symbolic language into a hidden metaphor (Rev. 16:16). It is good to keep in mind that God is the only One Who can destroy any earthly Empire; and He does it with His Own Zeal. As God divorced and destroyed the Antediluvians at Noah's Flood; so God divorced the Ancient Nation of Israel and destroyed that once Holy People; and is NOW married to His New Bride/Wife Whom He Redeemed during the First Century. Authentic Christians are NOW brothers and sisters to "that to this" married Union Of Unity!

Gog and Magog: Dictionary meaning: ''Heb gog, magog: see Ezek. 38:2] Bible personification of the nations that, under Satan, are to war against the kingdom of God: Rev. 20:8." Therefore, Gog and Magog symbolized those nations surrounding the Nation of Ancient Israel in the First Century culminating in AD 70 (Jerusalem's 7-Hill Fortress) which brought tyranny and deception against God's New Covenant Anointed people as [they] slaughtered and plundered those of them of they which converted to Christianity. Thus, the evil wickedness turned in upon themselves for the evil darkness wherein [they] both annihilated the upright (just) and devastated their property (earth/land). However, their tyrannical deceptive wickedness swallowed themselves up in self-destruction for going against God's Anointed; for in the end of them, they could not finally curse those whom God blessed and made justly righteous through His Own Merits. The predator nations became so dark as not to perceive the Light Of Christ, and God gave them up - very timingly - to their own self-destructive-lusts.

Book Of Life: Book of the Obedient-Faithful Living during OT times; combining with Everlasting Covenant Life (NT) - meaning Sovereign Faithfulness Grace Living Believers (Rev. 21:27). The Faithful-Spiritual-True of both the Old and New Covenants; those of each who and which were faithful to God, as He was/is faithful to them. Many are called, but few are chosen to teach the combined relationship of Everlasting Covenanted Unity. The Parousia (Presence) of Christ, collected all the Redeemed in AD 66 to Heaven's Gloryland to be the "Bride Of Christ."

Book Of Deeds: Being accountable to God by the Beauty of Holiness: that is, full of Good Deeds; since God does not remember the sins of those whom He has Salvationed - never, no never! Psalm 103:12, Isaiah 43:25.

Heaven: Where God makes all things New (New Habitat) - meaning ALL Glorious Living (Rev. 21:5) in never before of the temporary life inclusions; far surpassing languages and meanings of esoteric, ecstatic and ethereal ultimates and imaginations; and is why the Apostle Paul states he "was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which is not lawful for a man to utter" (2 Cor. 12:4) in this temporary earth/land environment.

Additional Scriptures: There are over 100 Scriptural references confirming the "end of the age" was when Jerusalem was destroyed in AD 70, not 2,000+ years later. Editor's Notes

Brackets [ ], underlining, and bold face within quotations and Scripture of this lesson are editor's amplification and emphasis.

The Hebrew language was a vowel-less dialectic, contingent upon Aramaic (language spoken by Jesus) and has words that cannot be translated into any other language. Even today, there are foreign languages which have some words that cannot be translated into English, i.e. German and others. Also, keep in mind that the Greek which the New Testament was written in was the Middle-Greek or Street-Greek of the common people. Latin and Middle-Greek are inference languages and are only compatible in limited extent degrees of more narrow definitives. One would have to know fluencies of Aramaic, Hebrew, Greek, and Latin to have a full matrix meaning of the entire Biblical Concordia.
